Welcome to Care 2 Acne

Which facial cleanser is suitable for me???

The facial cleanser is an important skin care regimen to fight against acne. But how can we choose the right one? There are a lot of brands and types in the market. Here is the guide line for you.

  • Dry Skin : Keep dry skin hydrated with a creamy cleanser that won't strip skin of its natural oils.
  • Oily Skin : Opt for an oil-free cleanser that removes excess shine without overdrying.
  • Acne-Prone Skin : Choose a cleanser with salicylic acid to unclog pores and remove dead cells. To beat breakouts, try a wash with benzoyl peroxide to help kill acne-causing bacteria.
  • Combination Skin : Look for a mild cleanser to gently dissolve dirt and oil with emollients to help keep dry areas moisturized.
  • Sensitive Skin : Choose a fragrance-free, hypo-allergenic formula that has been dermatologist-tested to be non-irritating.

For clean, healthy skin, don't overdo your cleansing routine. Just as you wouldn't toss a silk blouse or lacy camisole into the washing machine with your jeans, you shouldn't scrub delicate skin too hard or use rough loofahs or sponges. It can cause sensitive skin to become irritated and may exacerbate breakouts in acne-prone skin. Instead, use your fingertips or a soft, dampened washcloth to gently massage in cleanser. Wash with lukewarm water—hot water can be too drying. And don't buy into the myth that the more often you wash, the cleaner your skin will be—washing too often can overdry skin, stripping it of its natural oils and causing irritation. Your best bet: Limit lathering up to two or three times a day (in the morning, before bedtime and after a workout).
